Microbial physiology,studying the laws that govern physiological activities of microorganisms,is extremely practical nature and widely applied to many fields.However,the complicated and abstract metabolic pathways of mi-croorganisms have hindered students' motivation in learning this course.This paper probes into the teaching practice of employing Problem/Project-Based Learning ( PBL) method in the course of microbial physiology in the university from the aspects of procedures,principles and effects,aiming at to stimulate students' motivation and improve their learn-ing,and in the meantime,facilitate the effective application of PBL in classroom teaching and lay a solid foundation for the teaching reform and innovation of the university.
