摘要

中国佛教经学中的章疏传统,包括义章和义疏两类文体.两者是中古时期僧众解释佛经的两种基本模式:义章通释经典大义与核心名相;义疏则"依文释义".两者一经一纬,共同构成中国佛教经学诠释学的两个基本维度.这一传统在隋唐时代逐渐定型,并与"论"形成严格区分:不能将章疏归入印度佛教"经律论"三藏中的"论藏"一类,也不能将之归入中国传统文体中的论著一类.这一时期,僧众以义章与义疏共同解释同一经典,如《成实论》《摄大乘论》《杂心论》等,是章疏传统的重要表现.对义章的界定,当以义疏为标准,义章是义疏发展到一定阶段的结果,具体而言,义章是将义疏的解释方法,应用于事数名相、经典大义等解释的产物.

Abstract

The tradition of commentary and exegesis in Chinese Buddhist hermeneutics includes two styles,i.e.collection of exegeses and commentary on sutra.The two styles constituted two basic dimensions of Chinese Buddhist hermeneutics,and acted as two basic modes for monks to interpret sutras in medieval times:the former was used to explain the great significance and key concepts,and the latter was used to explain specific wordings.This tradition gradually took shape in the Sui-Tang period,and was strictly distinguished from the style of argumentation,which cannot be classified in neither the category of Abhidharma of Indian Buddhism,nor traditional Chinese writing forms.During this period,sutras were interpreted jointly in the two styles,and there emerged representative works such as Tattvasiddhi,Mahāyāna-sa(m)graha,and Sa(m)yuktābhidharmah(r)daya.Finally,the definition of collection of exegeses should take commentary on sutra as the standard.The exegeses were the products of commentaries on sutras to a certain stage,which applied the interpretation method of the commentaries to interpretations of concepts and the general meaning of sutras.
