CHANGES OF THE OSTRACOD COMMUNITIES FROM THE LOWERMOST TRIASSIC MICROBIALITES AT THE SHANGGANG SECTION,LEYE,GUANGXI
In this study, about 4 756 ostracod specimens were obtained from the lowermost Triassic microbialites following the end-Permian mass extinction at the Shanggang section,Leye City,Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. These ostracods could be assigned to 96 species in 27 genera. Two ostracod assemblages were recognized:Bairdia wailiensis-Liuzhinia antalyaensis-Bairdiacypris ottomanensis assemblage and Bairdiacypris ottomanensis-Liuzhinia antalyaensis-Paracypris gaetanii assemblage. The lower part of the microbialites was characterized by high diversity of genus and species with no obvious dominant species, while the upper part of the microbialites was dominated by Bairdiacypris ottomanensis,Liuzhinia antalyaensis and Paracypris gaetanii. The overall trend of decline in biodiversity and increase in dominance may be the result of interspecific competition.
