Based on the expectancy theory and rational choice theory, this article deconstructs the influencing fac-tors and internal mechanisms of police training content and methods on public security work outcomes. On this basis,it examines the chain mediation effect of training satisfaction on individual officer's development and the moderating effect of an officer's years of service. The study found that the content and methods of training have a significant positive impact on the outcomes of public security work;training satisfaction and individual officer's development play a chain-mediated role in the impact of training content and methods on the outcomes of public security work;and the length of police service has a negative moderating effect on the impact of individual police development on the outcomes of public security work.Based on the research findings, practical suggestions for effectively enhancing the effectiveness of public security work are proposed from three aspects:enriching the content and methods of police training, paying attention to individual officer's development and practical needs, improving the evaluation mechanism of police training effectiveness, and building the collaborative mechanism for regional police training.
