Reform and Transformation of Training Strategy for Chinese Peacekeeping Police in the New Era
UN peacekeeping operations have shown many new trends and adjustments with the dramatic changes of international political and economic environment in recent years.Consequently,UNPOL training has been adjusted accordingly and a set of newly developed course on the basis of UNPOL Strategic Guidance Framework has been developed.Peacekeeping training is playing a more important role in the peace operation continuum.All these changes have demonstrated the ambition of Police Division to be the system-wide service provider of international policing.This paper reviews the development of peacekeeping police and analyzes the new trends of peacekeeping police training.On the basis of SWOT analysis of China's peacekeeping police training,it identifies the way forward in the following 4 aspects:enlarging the scope and capacity of the training center,enhancing the foundation of the center in case of contingency,helping cultivate the international civil servant talents and building the international image and brand of the center.The goal is to provide suggestions to the peacekeeping authority in its strategic paradigm reform and development.
