Respecting the style of the ci poetry is one of the important propositions in ci studies,and it is also an issue of great concern in modern ci criticism.As the first systematic work on the history of ci criticism,Jiang Shunyi's Ci Xue Ji Cheng has a theme running through it:the consciousness of respecting the ci poetry based on the re-criticism of criticism.Some statements in Jiang's Ci Xue Ji Cheng are contradictory,reflecting the complexity of his consciousness.On the one hand,the work advocates respecting the ci style from the point of view of the elegance and the study of classics.On the other hand,Ci Xue Ji Cheng traces the origin of the theory of the ci poetry,exploring the unique essence of ci poetry through the theories of phonetics and poetic realms.It is a fusion and breakthrough of the Changzhou School and the West Zhejiang School,reflecting the complex cultural mentality of modern ci poetry theorists.
