摘要
外国文学研究与比较文学就像一对孪生兄弟,既有诸多相似性,又是两个独立的个体.外国文学研究通常需要运用比较文学的思维、原理和方法展开研究,而比较文学是一种跨民族、跨语言、跨文化、跨学科的文学研究.中国外国文学研究因为具有比较文学特质必然具备跨界特征.外国文学与翻译文学关系密切,有时候简直就是一物两面或一体二用.外国文学既衍生出翻译文学,但又不能等同于中国的外国文学,终究是一种越界的文学.外国文学既然与翻译文学关系如此密切,而翻译文学与数字人文,尤其是ChatGPT更是相互纠缠,后者大有可能威胁前者,并压缩前者的生存空间.借助于数字人文的外国文学研究,其前景将无限扩展,但数字人文也会挤压外国文学的空间,外国文学研究必须探索和寻求新的发展途径和生存空间.
Abstract
Research on foreign literature and comparative literature are just like twin brothers,sharing numerous similari-ties and being two independent individuals.Research in foreign literature typically requires to put the mindset,princi-ples,and methods of comparative literature to use,while comparative literature is a kind of cross-national,cross-linguis-tic,cross-cultural,and interdisciplinary literary research.Research on foreign literature in China inevitably possesses cross-boundary characteristics due to its comparative literary nature.Foreign literature and translated literature are closely related,sometimes even being two sides of the same coin or two functions of one thing.Since foreign literature is so close-ly related to translated literature,and translated literature is intertwined with digital humanities,especially ChatGPT,the latter is likely to threaten the former and compress its living space.With the help of digital humanities,the research pros-pects of foreign literature will be expanded infinitely,but digital humanities will also squeeze the development space of foreign literature.Foreign literature research must explore and seek new living spaces and approaches for development.
