否定的情感表征功能——基于福克纳《八月之光》的语料库文体学研究

否定常常被视为一种独特的文体手段,具有显著的前景化效果和情感功能.本研究在语料库文体学的视角下,考察《八月之光》中否定的分布和使用,探讨否定在《八月之光》中的情感表征功能.研究发现,该小说中的否定表征人物内心复杂的情感(如恐惧、无助、痛苦、挣扎、冷漠、幸福与希望等)激发了读者的情感共鸣,从而进一步丰富了小说的情感层次.否定的情感表征研究有助于挖掘叙事小说的情感内涵.
Abstract
Negation is often regarded as a distinctive stylistic device with significant foregrounding effects and emotional functions.This study examines the distribution and usage of negation in the narrative novel Light in August from the per-spective of corpus stylistics,exploring how negation represents emotions in the novel.It is found that the negation in Light in August depicts the characters'complex emotions,such as fear,forlornness,pain,struggle,indifference,happiness and hope,thereby evoking emotional responses in readers through delicate expressions and stylistic techniques and further enriching the emotional layers of the novel.The study of the emotional representation of negation contributes to uncovering the emotional content of narrative fictions.
