基于语料库概率模型的英语被动构式交替多变量分析

摘要

本文基于大规模语料库标注数据,使用混合效应逻辑回归和随机森林模型对英语被动构式交替进行了多变量分析,考察了制约被动构式交替的显著因素,揭示了被动构式变体的核心用法差异.研究发现:1)受事、施事、语义韵、动词类型、语体、性别、副词、句子极性等因素均对被动构式交替具有显著影响;2)按其相对影响权重排序依次是:语体>语义韵>动词类型>受事>句子极性>副词>施事>性别;3)相较于be-passive,get-pas-sive更倾向用于口语中表达对动态行为事件的消极评价.

Abstract

This study adopts the mixed-effects logistic regression and random forest models fitted on large-scale annotated corpus data to examine the significant constraints of English passive construction alternation.The results indicate that:1)English passive construction alternation is significantly influenced by those factors such as patient,agent,semantic prosody,verb type,mode,sex,adverbial and polarity;2)the ordering of these factors in terms of their weights is as follows:mode>semantic prosody>verb type>patient>polarity>adverbial>agent>sex;and 3)compared with be-passive construc-tions,get-passive constructions are more frequently used to express speakers'negative evaluations of dynamic events in spo-ken registers.
