Construction and Application of a CSE-Based Dynamic Assessment Model of College Eng-lish Writing
Based on Vygotsky's Sociocultural Theory and Feuerstein's Mediated Learning Theory, this study combined interventionist and interactionist dynamic assessment models to construct a CSE(China's Standards of English Language Ability)-based dynamic assessment model for college English writing. The model was then applied to a 16-week teaching experiment consisting of three stages, namely pre-test,intervention and post-test.According to the research objectives, the study explored the application effect of the model via research instruments such as question-naires,writing tasks, and follow-up interviews. The findings of the study indicate that after the implementation of the model, students'writing quality, evaluation ability, and use of writing ex-pression strategies have been significantly improved through various phases of students'self-as-sessment,peer-assessment,and teacher feedback. The study also confirms that timely teacher in-tervention based on CSE could facilitate students'proper construction of their own zone of proxi-mal development in a positive way. Moreover, the results of the questionnaire surveys and inter-views show that, overall, students hold positive attitudes towards the model constructed in this study. Moreover, students favored the model's role in arousing their interest in writing to some extent, and helping them internalize CSE and further transfer it to other learning tasks.
