The Image of Xi Wangmu in Chinese Mythology and Legends from the Perspective of Historical Comparative Linguistics——A Comparative Study Based on the Exchanges and Mutual Learning Among Silk Road Civilizations
Xi Wangmu is a famous figure in Chinese mythology and legends and has a long history. From the perspective of historical comparative linguistics,it is found that Xi Wangmu in China,Uma in India, and the Eve in the Bible not only have similar pronunciation, but also share a semantic connection with"mother",which are consistent with their divine identity of mother god.Ancient Chinese civilization, ancient Indian civilization, and ancient Near Eastern civilization are the main representatives of early Eastern civilization. There are many similarities in their mother gods, which to some extent demonstrates that the concept of"a community with a shared future for mankind"has a profound mythological and linguistic foundation.
