The best evidence summary for physical activity during chemotherapy in children with hematological tumors
Objective:To retrieve, evaluate and summarize the evidence related to physical activity during chemotherapy in children with hematological tumors,so as to provide reference for healthcare professionals to correctly guide children to carry out physical activity. Methods:A systematic search was conducted for clinical decisions, guidelines, expert consensus, recommended practices, evidence summaries, and systematic evaluations in domestic and international databases, and relevant guideline websites regarding the intervention of physical activity in children with hematological neoplasms during the chemotherapeutic period from January 2013 to September 2023.The quality evaluation, extraction and integration for evidence were conducted independently by 2 researchers respectively. Results:A total of 16 studies, including 2 guidelines,2 expert consensus,1 evidence summary and 11 systematic evaluations. There were 30 pieces of best evidence extracted, which were integrated into the following 5 aspects:timing of initiation and cessation,pre-exercise assessment, program formulation, program implementation, and safety management. Conclusion:The best evidence for physical activity during chemotherapy in children with hematological tumors has been summarized in this study. It is recommended that a multidisciplinary team should be established and the best evidence be applied to regulate early activity and develop personalized activity programs.
