The"Landscape"Authenticity Paradox in Rural Tourism—A Case Study on Y Village in Taishun
The urban residents'anxiety of modernity increases demand of authenticity for rural tourism.Y Village in Taishun County has rich natural and cultural landscapes, but the development of tourism here is limited. The reason for this is that the"authentic landscape"that urban tourists expect does not fully correspond to its ecological and anthropological connotations, but rather points to a philosophical level of constructed"landscape".Facing the above"landscape paradox",as tourist destinations, rural areas should respect the needs of tourists, meet their"daily needs"in flexible ways, and moderately create landscapes on the existing basis; On the other hand, the authenticity of the landscape should also be conserved, and the concept of"ecological beauty"ought to be adhered throughout tourism development.
