The Impact of Cumulative Ecological Risk on the Intention to Leave among Local University Staff:The Chain Mediating Effect of Emotional Exhaustion and Insomnia
To thoroughly investigate the impact of cumulative risk factors in a multi-ecological background on employees'intention to leave and its underlying psychological mechanisms, this study, grounded in the theory of cumulative ecological risk andsurveyed 327 academic staff from five universities in Wenzhou, examined the effect of cumulative ecological risk on employees'intention to leave and the chain mediating roles of insomnia and emotional exhaustion. The findings indicate that cumulative ecological risk significantly predicts a positive increase in employees'intention to leave.Cumulative ecological risk heightens employees'level of emotional exhaustion, which in turn raises their intention to leave.Furthermore, cumulative ecological risk leads to employees'insomnia, thereby increasing their intention to leave.Emotional exhaustion and insomnia act as a chain mediator between cumulative ecological risk and employees'intention to leave.
