The Local Inheritance of Bao Zheng's Filial Piety Spirit—Taking Jietou Village in Shanxi Town,Wencheng County as an Example
Bao Zheng's posthumous title was"Xiaosu",which originally had two dimensions:"filial piety"and"solemnity".Traditional society has almost only developed a one-dimensional dimension of"solemnity",so Bao Gong has become a representative of upright officials. In the current new social context, the value of filial piety is becoming increasingly prominent.Advocated by Jietou Village in Shanxi Town,Wencheng County,Wenzhou,Zhejiang Province, the filial piety culture is a regional creation of Baogong culture, which can be regarded as a creative transformation of excellent traditional culture and promote inter-generational harmony. In addition,Bao Xueguan,a descendant of the Bao family, also established a"remarriage award"to encourage elderly people to remarry, through agreements such as non-interference in premarital property and co-burial of bodies with their original partners after their death, resolving the concerns of all parties. The remarriage of elderly people in Jietou Village is essentially an extension of filial piety, with the basic model being a combination of widowed elderly individuals rather than inter-generational marriage,in which the concept of"elderly care through marriage"is a collaborative effort between children and the community, providing constructive answers to the increasing number of elderly people living alone in an aging society.
