The Impact Mechanism and Policy Suggestions for Digital Agriculture in Promoting Rural Revitalization
The rapid development of digital agriculture has injected powerful new momentum into rural revitalization,and is a key strategic opportunity to promote the modernization of agriculture and rural areas.Based on data from 31 provinces in China from 2010 to 2020,this paper constructs two indicator systems for digital agriculture and rural revitalization,and based on the theory of agricultural modernization and regional development theory,explores the ways in which digital agriculture can play a moderating role from multiple levels,formulation of relevant hypotheses.Meanwhile,conducts empirical tests using a two-way fixed-effect model and a mediator variable model to explore the impact mechanism of digital agriculture on rural revitalization.The results show that digital agriculture has accelerated the rural revitalization process,improved agricultural productivity and quality of agricultural products,promoted the development of rural e-commerce and agricultural finance,promoted innovation in rural social governance,and fostered urban-rural co-development,and this conclusion still holds after conducting endogeneity analysis and robustness tests by lagging the digital economy by one and two periods.In terms of the impact mechanism,technological innovation,agricultural industrial upgrading,and rural living environment have been identified as important mechanisms through which digital agriculture promotes rural revitalization.Through the analysis of the moderating effect model,the influence mechanism of digital agriculture is also moderated by the level of regional development,government policy support and other factors.Heterogeneity analysis indicates that the digital economy in the central and western regions is more effective in promoting rural revitalization compared to the eastern region.In summary,the findings of this paper provide empirical evidence for the application of digital agriculture in promoting rural revitalization,and put forward a number of policy recommendations such as accelerating the process of rural digitization,promoting digital technology,and strengthening the cultivation of digital talent system.
