Digital Economy,Digital Transformation and Enterprise Core Competitiveness
The core competitiveness of an enterprise refers to its comprehensive strength,including its ability to own,integrate,and transform various resources.This represents the enterprise's current and future competitive advantage.The digital economy has expanded with the development of internet technology.It is now the most dynamic segment in China's high-quality economic development.Its positive role in enhancing the core competitiveness of private enterprises and promoting their high-quality development cannot be ignored.This paper explores the intrinsic mechanism of the relationship between the digital economy and the impact of the core competitiveness of enterprises.The study is based on the provincial digital economy development indicators and the data of A-share listed private enterprises from 2011 to 2020.The study shows that the digital economy has a clear positive impact on the core competitiveness of enterprises.This finding remains significant even after conducting robustness tests with fixed effects and introducing historical postal and telecommunications data as instrumental variables.The heterogeneity test reveals that the impact of the digital economy on the core competitiveness of enterprises varies depending on the level of core competitiveness and the development of the digital economy.Further analysis shows that the digital transformation of the enterprise partially mediates the relationship between the impact of the digital economy and the core competitiveness of the enterprise.Finally,this paper proposes several policy recommendations to enhance the core competitiveness of private enterprises and achieve high-quality development.These recommendations include strengthening top-level design and infrastructure construction,increasing digital economy policy promotion,implementing differentiated digital economy strategies,enhancing the radiation effect of the digital economy,and promoting the digital transformation of enterprises.
