秦人天命的构建及其"正统性"审视

春秋以来,秦人的天命观念在意识与仪式两个层面完成构建,其信仰格局由"天""祖先"的二元上位神崇拜发展到"天"与"皇帝"合体的人格上位神崇拜,最终取代周人天命的超验上位神崇拜。在意识层面,秦人通过分享原属周人的天命,藉"周秦一体"与"五德终始说"改造"天"的性质;在仪式层面,秦人通过设置"畤祭"来体现"天""祖先"合体的二元上位神崇拜,先后置西畤、鄜畤、密畤、上畤、下畤、畦畤,祭祀以白帝少皞、青帝太皞、黄帝、炎帝面目对应的"上帝(天)",并发展到以封禅祭"上帝(天)"、以雍四畤祭"四色帝"、以祠祭祖先的信仰格局。秦人的天命观念包含三方面的特质:在早期功利性色彩下对"德政"的回避;在周秦嬗代过程中与"德运(五德)"的挂钩与脱钩;在大一统信仰格局下"天"与"皇帝"的合体,其最终形态存在无法自洽的内在矛盾。取而代之的汉人通过对秦人天命的"正统性"审视,从正当性、唯一性、连续性三个维度程度不一地否定秦人天命的存在:以正当性标准而论,斥秦政为"暴政";以唯一性标准而论,认为秦以诸侯身份亡其国,享诸侯之命,不具备天子之命的唯一性;以连续性标准而论,汉人分别依据"五行方位""五德终始""三统"等说提出多种解释"秦汉相继"之理论方案,对秦汉相继有一个从逐渐认可再到强烈否定的过程。
The Construction of the Heavenly Destiny of the Qin People and its "Orthodoxy" Examination
Since the Spring and Autumn period,the concept of destiny among the Qin people has been constructed at the levels of consciousness and ritual.Its belief pattern has evolved from the binary worship of the upper gods of"heaven"and"ancestors"to the personality worship of the upper gods of"heaven"and"emperor",ultimately replacing the Zhou people's destiny(transcendental worship of the upper gods).On the level of consciousness,the Qin people transformed the nature of"heaven"by sharing the original destiny of the Zhou people,and by assisting in the integration of"fusion between Zhou and Qin"and the"Five Elements"theory;On the level of ceremonial,the Qin people formed a binary worship of the superior deity of"Heaven"and"ancestors"by setting up"zhi(畤)".They worshipped the corresponding"God(Heaven)"in the form of White God Shaohao(白帝少4),Cyan God Taihao(青帝太皞),Yellow Emperor(黄帝),and Yan Emperor(炎帝),and developed a belief pattern of offering sacrifices to"God(Heaven)"in the form of"Fengshen(封禅)","four colored Gods"in the form of four"Zhi"in the Yong area(雍四畤),and"ancestors"in the form of ancestral temples.The concept of destiny of the Qin people contains three characteristics:In the early stages,the avoidance of"moral governance"under the influence of utilitarianism;The connection and decoupling with the"Five Elements(五德)"during the process of Qin Dynasty replacing Zhou Dynasty;Under the unified belief pattern,the combination of"heaven"and"emperor",which as the ultimate form,has its inherent contradictions.The Han people examined the"legitimacy"of the Qin people's destiny and denied the existence of the Qin people's destiny from three dimensions:legitimacy,uniqueness,and continuity.In terms of legitimacy standards,they criticized the Qin government as"tyranny";In terms of uniqueness standards,the final form of the Qin regime is still the vassal state,possessing the destiny of the vassals but not the uniqueness of the destiny of the emperor;In terms of continuity standards,the Han people proposed various explanations for the succession of the Qin and Han dynasties based on the theories of"Five Elements"and"Three Tong(三统)".There was a process of gradual recognition and then strong negation of the succession of the Qin and Han dynasties.
