New Progress in the Study of the Middle Income Trap
The Middle income trap has been widely and continuously concerned since it was proposed,but the existing literature lacks a review of the latest Academic progress of the Middle income trap.Based on the results of the current literature review,this paper reviews,summarizes and comments on the concept of the Middle income trap and its extension from multiple perspectives of growth,development and the international environment,gives a new definition of the Middle income trap,and gives a new answer to the dispute about the existence of the Middle income trap in existing research.On this basis,based on neoclassical and endogenous growth theory,Lewis turning point Kuznets hypothesis,traditional comparative advantage theory,product space and comparative advantage evolution theory,and center periphery theory,this paper systematically examines the different influencing factors and their internal mechanisms and how they lead to the occurrence of traps,and proposes what kind of leaping path,and accordingly points out the shortcomings of current research and future research prospects.This study has important theoretical and practical significance for enhancing the understanding of the challenges of the Middle income trap faced by developing countries,scientifically constructing the theoretical system of the Middle income trap,and achieving high-quality sustainable development in developing countries,including China,so as to truly overcome the Middle income trap.
