Ageing Finance with Chinese Characteristics:Basic Meaning,Realistic Challenge and Advancing Path
Exploring an ageing finance development model that aligns with Chinese characteristics is an important choice for better leveraging the cross-period resource allocation function of finance and for supporting the high-quality development of ageing industry. After decades of exploration,China's ageing finance has formed a conceptual framework centered on pension finance, ageing financial services, and ageing industry finance. In practice, this framework has achieved significant results by establishing an institutional pension system and developing market-oriented ageing financial reserves, which has greatly contributed to the increase of pension wealth.Additionally, financial support for the ageing industry has facilitated the growth of the elderly care sector. However,China's ageing finance still faces several challenges, including an imbalanced and insufficient development of the pension system,a low match between supply and demand in market-oriented ageing finance, and insufficient integration between the ageing industry and financial development. In the future,China's approach to addressing the challenges of an ageing population should focus on comprehensive top-level design, emphasize the principle of the entire life cycle, and prioritize the construction of an elderly care ecosystem.Based on this foundation,it is essential to systematically advance the development of pension finance, ageing financial services, and ageing industry finance.
