AI Industrialization and Industrial AI-ization:Action Practices,Transformation Trends,and Frontier Topics for the AI Large Model Industrial Ecosystem
The embryonic form of Artificial Intelligence large model(AILM)industry ecosystem represented by ChatGPT,Sora,and others is rapidly emerging,while there is still a lack of in-depth exploration of its industrial operational practices overview and its impact on transformative trends.Based on theories such as ecosystem theory and industrial ecosystem theory,this paper proposes the innovative concept of the AILM industrial ecosystem(AILMIE),and explores the AILMIE system from two dimensions of AI industrialization and industrial AI-ization,combined with multiple perspectives.The results reveal that:AILMIE is exhibiting an evolutionary trend that encompasses the coexistence of AI industrialization and industrial AI-ization,the parallel advancement of AI-native and X+AI applications,the coexistence of general-purpose and specialized models,the collaboration between large and small models,the parallel existence of open-source and closed-source AILM,multiple modalities coexist,and a hybrid of edge and cloud AI.In addition,AILM is emerging as a new type of industrial infrastructure,promoting the transition from manual workshops and distributed intelligent service production to industrial-scale,centralized intelligent service production.Besides,AILM is reshaping human-machine interaction,revolutionizing the construction and invocation paradigms of industrial knowledge models,and accelerating the advent of democratized AI,AI Generated service,embodied intelligence,physical AI,and super AI applications.On this basis,we propose a research agenda that explores various aspects of AILMIE,including AILMIE system construction and its labor division and cooperation mechanism,diverse route selection and its co-existing symbiotic mechanisms within the industrial ecosystem,AILM's empowerment mechanisms for traditional industries,and governance frameworks for AILMIE.
