Configuration and Path Identification of Driving Factors for the Intelligent Transformation of the Elderly Care Service by Institution:Based on the Fuzzy-Set Qualitative Comparative Analysis Method
In the digital era,information technology has developed rapidly and has become an important carrier for the transformation and upgrading of various service formats.Relying on information technology to innovate the elderly care service model and promote the intelligent transformation of traditional elderly care services is an important strategic choice to actively respond to the aging of the population,and the key link to accelerate its realization is to clarify the main actor of intelligent transformation and identify multiple factors affecting the willingness to transform.However,the existing literature mostly discusses the driving factors of the intelligent transformation of elderly care services from a single element,without considering the joint role of multi-level factors or specifying the specific implementation subjects of transformation,paying more attention to the post-transformation service development stage,and lacking of attention to the antecedents and processes of transformation.Focusing on the main suppliers of the current elderly care service model,this paper selects the elderly care institutions as the research objects,which has an innate advantage in the process of service intelligent transformation,applies the TOE theoretical framework to clarify the multiple drivers of transformation from technical,organizational and environmental dimensions,uses the data of 68 elderly care institutions obtained from field research and adopts the fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis method(fsQCA)to explore the differentiated performance and linkage matching effect of multiple driving factors for the intelligent transformation of the elderly care service by institutions.The results show that there are no necessary conditions to promote the generation of high transformation willingness of elderly care institutions,the seven antecedents of technology,organization and environment dimensions are coordinated by four configuration forms under two driving types:technology-organization-environment-driven and technology-organization-driven,to promote the generation of high transformation willingness,and the more complete the antecedent conditions,the more inclined to provide intelligent services for elderly care institutions.Perceived comparative advantage is the core driving factor for the intelligent transformation of the elderly care service by institutions.Compatibility and market pull can be"equivalent replacement"with specific antecedent conditions to promote the intelligent transformation of elderly care institutions'services.Compared with previous literature,this paper has made contributions in the following three aspects:first,the research traces the related research of the intelligent transformation of elderly care services from the analysis of the smart elderly care service model and status quo to the stage of transformation intention,and clearly defines the transformation subject,which makes up for the shortcomings of the existing research and broadens the research scope of smart elderly care service;Second,it breaks through the previous research perspective of exploring the driving factors of intelligent transformation of elderly care services from a single dimension,the TOE analysis framework and fsQCA were used to explore the multiple influencing factors and dynamic matching effects for the intelligent transformation of the elderly care service by institutions,which provides new research perspectives and methods for related research.Third,it is found that the multiple concurrent causal relationships that drive the intelligent transformation of the elderly care service by institutions,and there are synergistic linkage and complementary substitution effects between different antecedent conditions,which provides a differentiated path for elderly care institutions with different development stages and resource endowments to adopt information technology to promote the intelligent transformation of services.This study clarifies the main actor of the intelligent transformation of elderly care services,explores the configuration effect of multiple inducing factors for the intelligent transformation of the elderly care service by institutions,reveals the deep-seated driving mechanism of multiple equivalent paths for the intelligent transformation of the elderly care service by institutions,and provides an important reference for stimulating the intelligent transformation of the elderly care service by institution,exploring suitable transformation paths,and accelerating the intelligent upgrading of elderly care service system.
