The Construction Path of Rural Ecological Civilization under the Concept of Life Community
It is a fundamental plan implemented by the Party and the government to carry out ecological civilization construction and build the"Beautiful China"for the great rejuvenation and sustainable development of the Chinese nation.It is also an important contribution to strengthening global environmental governance,building a community with a shared future for mankind,and realizing sustainable development of human society.Rural areas are the key foundation as well as an integral part of China's ecological civilization construction.In recent years,with the comprehensive promotion of the Rural Revitalization Strategy,especially that of ecological poverty alleviation and poverty reduction programs in various regions,the importance of in-depth research on the practical path of ecological civilization construction in China's rural areas is becoming increasingly prominent.In view of the fact that agriculture,rural areas and peasants have always been fundamental issues of China's revolution,construction and reform,this article,based on a review of relevant policy documents and research literature,and according to the strategic guidelines for rural revitalization proposed at the 19th CPC National Congress and the goal of"building livable and livelihood-friendly and beautiful countryside"proposed at the 20th CPC National Congress,analyzes the connotation of ecological civilization construction in rural areas from three dimensions which are building livable countryside,building livelihood-friendly countryside,and building beautiful countryside.Aiming at the current achievements and the existing problems of ecological civilization construction in rural areas,this article construes the philosophical connotation of the concept of life community which is the core principle and theoretical basis of Xi Jinping Thought on ecological civilization and expounds on the practical implications of the concept.It then puts forward three major practical paths from three dimensions for promoting ecological civilization construction in rural areas which include the new rural areas,the new agricultures and the new peasants:First,insisting on the guidance of the Party construction,and coordinating the promotion of ecological environment governance in the new rural areas;Second,relying on science and technology to develop the new agriculture,and opening up a new path of agricultural development with ecological characteristics;Third,reshaping the rural civilization and custom,and helping to improve the ecological civilization literacy of the new peasants.Compared with previous literature,this article has two extensions:first,it elaborates and demonstrates the scientific connection between the concept of life community and the two mountains theory of Xi Jinping Thought on ecological civilization;Secondly,based on the three dimensions of the connotation of rural ecological civilization construction in China that it construes,it further proposes three dimensions which are the new rural areas,the new agriculture and the new farmers,for the analysis of the practical implications of the concept of life community for ecological civilization construction in rural areas.This article helps to better understand and grasp Xi Jinping Thought on ecological civilization and to enhance systemic understanding of the construction of the socialist ecological civilization.As guided by the concept of life community,it emphasizes the implementation of the two mountains theory in practices,and of the strengthening of ecological civilization construction in rural areas from three dimensions which are the new rural areas,the new agriculture and the new peasants,for building livable,livelihood-friendly and beautiful countryside,and for achieving true harmony and symbiosis between human and nature.
