Fault Structure of the Sulu Sea Based on Gravity Data
In order to study the tectonic features of the Sulu Sea area, the free-space gravity anomaly data of the study area were collected, collated, and processed to obtain local gravity anomalies by using the sliding average filtering method.Combining the results of previous research, the characteristics of free-space gravity anomalies and local gravity anomalies in the study area are analyzed in depth, and the distribution characteristics of fracture tectonics in the study area are discussed. The study results show that the gravity anomalies in the study area are clearly zoned, roughly bounded by Pandan-Sipalay-Tibolo-LabassonSenna Port, with a large difference in gravity variation between the southern and northern part of the dividing line.Based on the gravity anomaly features, nine groups of fracture zones of different scales were identified, which are mainly spreading in a north-easterly or north-westerly direction, with long extension distance and large scale, and play a controlling role in the delineation of tectonic units and the formation of some complex geological structures in the Sulu Sea area.
