Gravity Anomalies and Tectonic Features in the Northern Red Sea Basin
In order to investigate the gravity anomalies and tectonic features in the northern Red Sea Basin, the data of free-space gravity anomalies in the region were compiled and the residual gravity anomalies in the study area were obtained by using the site-field separation technique.Combined with the available geological data, the characteristics of free-space gravity anomalies and residual gravity anomalies were analyzed in depth, and the distribution of fracture structures in the region was determined. The study shows that the gravity anomalies in the study area are clearly zoned, with two zones of gravity anomaly variation to the north and south, roughly bounded by the Saladin-Umrai season. Two major groups of north-east and north-west oriented fracture zones have been identified, which control the tectonic framework and the development of secondary fractures in the area.
