From Cognition to Quantification:Study on the Identification and Inheritance of Landscape Features of Traditional Rural Settlement
The scientific protection and inheritance of traditional rural settlement features constitutes an important component of the contemporary rural revitalization process.By means of field survey and image analysis,the paper applies the morphological index analysis,the spatial syntax,and other research methods in the study of a traditional Chinese village,Wuling Village in Xiuning County,Huangshan City.An indicator system of rural settlement fea-tures has been established at three levels:settlement form,street structure,and architectural style.The features of Wuling Village's traditional rural settlements have been categorized through a multi-scale quantitative study,and the factors that influence them have been analyzed in depth from the geographic and cultural standpoints.On this basis,the paper puts forward a strategy for style inheritance in four aspects:guiding the development boundary of the village,optimizing the settlement texture,renovating the village architectural style and integrating the diversi-fied industrial development of,so as to provide specific reference samples for the quantitative study and ideas for the holistic protection of the features of traditional rural settlement.
