Digital Technology,Regional Economic Integration and High-quality Manufacturing Industry Development——Based on the empirical study of Yangzi River Delta
The process of regional economic integration has created a broad strategic space for digital technology to facilitate the high-quality development of China's manufacturing industry.The results of the study that uses the da-ta of 41 cities in the Yangtze River Delta from 2012 to 2023 demonstrate that digital technology has significantly promoted the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry with a particularly strong effect observed in the core locations and the cities with high development levels.The role of industrial technology innovation in this process is positive.Regional economic integration would magnify the direct impact of digital technology on the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry,thereby making the intermediary effect of industrial technology innovation even more significant.At the same time,both of them showed a significant threshold effect with an in-creasing trend of utility after crossing their respective thresholds.The research is to provide empirical evidence and decision-making reference for the high quality development of the manufacturing industry of China from two perspec-tives:developing digital technology and accelerating the formation of a unified domestic market.
