Analyses on Mistranslations of Song Lyrics from the Gestalt-image Reconstruction
It is a difficult point to transplant and reconstruct the image of Song lyrics in English transla-tion. Based on the gestalt-image reconstruction theory,some typical mistranslations of Song lyrics in English from the published works of domestic and foreign translators were chosen as the examples in order to analyze the causes of errors in theses translations from three aspects,such as the overall understanding of image chain, prudent choices of words and psychological isomorphism. Then it is pointed out that only when the translator grasps the gestalt image of Song lyrics as a whole,can he follow the original thought in Song lyrics synchroni-cally and continually,explore the deep connotation,and thus realize the gestalt-image reconstruction in Eng-lish version.
