The Impact of New Quality Productivity on Carbon Emissions——Based on Panel Data Analysis of 30 Provinces
Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2012 to 2022,the impact of new quality productivity on carbon emission level was empirically analyzed.The results show that the new quality productiv-ity significantly has reduced the level of carbon emission;New quality productivity components such as re-search and development capabilities and digital economy are the core driving forces for reducing carbon emis-sion levels.The mechanism study shows that the new quality productivity can reduce the carbon emission level by improving the industrial structure;From the perspective of spatial distribution,the effect of new quality pro-ductivity on carbon emission level has regional heterogeneity,which can significantly reduce the carbon emis-sion level in the central and western regions,but cannot reduce the carbon emission level in the eastern region.The spatial spillover effect shows that the new quality productivity will increase the carbon emission level of the neighboring area.Finally,countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to encourage the development of new quality productivity,continuously improve the industrial structure,develop new quality productivity accord-ing to local conditions,and strengthen provincial cooperation.
