Beyond"Borders":Behavioral Strategies of Chinese Enterprises'Localization in Africa
Now Chinese enterprises serve as a pivotal gateway for the dissemination of Chinese culture globally and play a significant role in fostering high-quality cooperation under the"Belt and Road"initiative, especially in Africa.Through an in-depth examination of the specific practices of the Chinese central State-owned enterprise Y in the overseas"localization"process, this study reveals the distinct boundaries faced by Chinese enterprises in Africa concerning order, institutional framework, and interests. To integrate into local societies and achieve localized operations,it would rely on lo-cal Chinese and overseas Chinese to explore the local market, actively attract local personnel into the company and reach a mutually beneficial relationship with the community, continue to expand the field of interaction between Chinese and Afri-can groups and increase opportunities for exchanges between the two sides. It would also resolve conflicts through cultural intelligence training and community intervention, and achieve"deep cultivation"in the local area.Furthermore, achieving cognitive consensus through the influence of new media, establishing a consensus of responsibility through the mechanism of corporate social responsibility reports, and fostering development consensus through long-term training and collabora-tion represent optimal paths for Chinese enterprises to establish long-term roots overseas.
