Determination of the Contents of Polyphenols in Fargesia denudata, the Main Food of Giant Penda by Folin-Ciocalteu Colorimetric Method
Aims:to establish a quantitative method of measuring total phenols in Fargesia denudata, the main food of giant panda. Methods:with gallic acid as reference substance to study the suitable conditions of the measurement by Folin-Ciocalteu method. Results:the optimum conditions for determining total polyphenols were as follows:the volume ratio of Folin-Ciocalteu reagent to 10% Na2CO3:1 ∶ 6,3 mL of Folin-Ciocalteu reagent incubated at 25℃for 2 h,followed by detection at 780 nm.Good linear relationship was found in the concentration of 20-100μg · mL-1,the average recovery was 99.4%.
