Growth and Photosynthetic Characteristics of Phragmite saustralis under Different Water Control Conditions
In this paper, the growth and photosynthetic characteristics of Phragmite saustralis were observed and analyzed by the cultivation experiment,in which different water control conditions were set up,including alternate drying-wetting (ADW),permanent flooding (PF) and water saturation (WS) conditions. The results showed that:1) the plant height, leaf area, leaf quantity and aboveground biomass in PW were significantly(p<0.05) greater than in ADW and WS,so did their verse number and plant diameter, but the difference was not significant.Plant orphological indexes (except density) in all treatment groups were similar and had no significant differences. This is because PF not only can stabilize the water environment but also can offer the benefit water, fertilizer, air, heat and other conditions. These showed that a steady flooding environment is more favorable to the growth of P.saustralis.2) The density of P.saustralis in ADW was significantly greater than in PF and WS.Due to in ADW was in long-term instable aquatic environment and vulnerable to drought or flooding, indicating that increasing density is self-protection mechanism of P.saustralis when it is vulnerable to drought or flooding.3) In the same period, the photosynthetic characteristics of P.saustralis in different water control condition treatments were significantly different,Pn,EVAP and Gs were in an order of PF>WS> ADW,but there were no significant differences between ADW and WS.In 8:00-14:00,P.saustralis in all treatments basically had the same variation of photosynthesis and had obvious "photosynthetic noon break" phenomenon.
