Temporal and Spatial Characteristics of Dust Retention Capability of Red Jujube Non-timber Plantation Belt in Desert Oasis
The objective of this study was to investigate the dust retention capability of red jujube non-tim-ber plantations in desert oasis area in different spatial areas and time dimensions. The red jujube planta-tions in the oasis township of the 11th Regiment of the First Division of Xinjiang Production and Construc-tion Corps were selected as the research objects. After the procedures of leaf dust collection, leaf area meas-urement,elution filtration and weighing mass, difference subtraction method combined with Digimizer soft-ware and NOWAK empirical formula were used to determine the relative indices, such as dust retention capacities of per unit leaf area, per leaf, per plant and per unit planting area of jujube plantations. The effects of temporal and spatial distribution characteristics and plant structure on dust retention efficiency were analyzed. The results showed that 1)the average values of dust retention per unit leaf area, per plant, and per unit land area were 4.86 g/m2,72.70 g/plant and 248.81 kg/hm2,respectively.2)The spatial vari-ation trend of dust retention in jujube plantation was as follows:the dust retention per plant and per unit leaf area decreased first and then increased from the oasis interior to the edge, and the dust retention per unit jujube plantation increased first and then decreased with the increase of the horizontal distance from the edge of jujube plantation. The vertical spatial distribution increased first and then decreased with the increase of jujube tree height.3)In terms of time distribution, there was a trend of first increasing and then decreasing with the increase of months, and the dust retention benefit was the best in June.4)There was significant positive correlation between dust retention per plant and per unit leaf area, crown width, crown height and 3D green amount(P<0.01).The research results can provide theoretical references for ecologi-cal benefit assessment of jujube plantation in desert oasis township in the northern margin of Tarim Basin.
