By focusing on forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation,accelerating the construction of the discipline system,academic system and discourse system of ethnology with Chinese characteristics is the important mission of the Chinese ethnology in a new era.The key is to stand on the national position and think in big-picture terms.First of all,in the construction of the discipline system,we should reposition the ethnology in the construction of the modern civilization of the Chinese nation to enhance the integration of the discipline.In the process of Chinese-style modernization,we should grasp the double transformation opportunity of ethnic studies and expand the research field of ethnology;we should build the fifth tradition of world ethnology and anthropology in the establishment of the Chinese school of ethnology.Secondly,in the construction of academic system,we should construct the scientific and holistic theoretic system of community for the Chinese nation with the"state-nation"relationship as the core;we should consolidate its theoretical foundation guided by the correct view of the state,history,nation,and culture;we should promote the innovation of its research methods driven by interdisciplinarity and new technology.Finally,in the construction of discourse system,we should focus on the"four confidences",tell Chinese stories well with Chinese concepts,construct the ethnological discourse system with local wisdom,and enhance its discourse power in the world.
