The Formation and Evolution of the Cultural Symbol of Da Yu and the Construction of the Common Historical Memory of the Chinese Nation——A Case Study of the Da Yu Worship in Beichuan
Chinese cultural symbols are cultural markers formed by various ethnic groups in the process of historical evolution,and are the reflection of the common historical memory of the Chinese nation.Whenever the state and the nation face challenges,the common historical and cultural memory will be activated and transformed into a spiritual source for the Chinese nation to share the common destiny and overcome difficulties together.Taking the Da Yu worship in Beichuan as an example,the article systematically combs though the historical origins,multi-integration development and contemporary sublimation of the Da Yu worship in the region,and interprets how the Da Yu culture has been condensed into a Chinese cultural symbol that symbolizes the common historical memory of the Chinese nation,and has gradually sublimated into the"Da Yu Spirit".
