Creation Myth and Co-Ancestor Metaphor:The Original Narrative of Fostering a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation
Almost all ethnic groups have their own creation myths to explain the origin and beginning of the universe,human race,and social culture.In the traditional religious belief,each ethnic group believes that their own myth is the"truth"of the origin of all things.In the analysis of the creation myths of multiple ethnic groups,this article finds that they all metaphorically imply the cognitive concept that all ethnic groups have the same origin and common ancestors.The article reveals that the myth of homology and common ancestor fully embodies the sense of compatriotism of all ethnic groups,which originates from the brotherhood of all ethnic groups in their long history of interaction,exchanges,and integration,as well as from the endogenous motivation of all ethnic groups to pursue unity and solidarity.
