From Embedding to Integration:A Study on Fostering a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation of the Floating Population——Based on the Fieldwork of Migrant Workers in the Pearl River Delta
Fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese Nation cannot be achieved without paying attention to the floating population.Embedding livelihood into social integration is a practical process in which the floating population participates in common production and life,reshapes the type of ethnic relations.The current process of floating workers in the Pearl River Delta from livelihood embeddedness to social integration is still faced with the double obstacles of policy system and social culture.At the policy and institution level,it is necessary to provide basic guarantees for them in terms of institutional arrangements,public services and urban governance to help them to embed their livelihood;at the socio-cultural level,it is necessary to promote the diversification of public cultural life,the liberalization of the humanistic atmosphere in the city and the harmonization of ethnic relations in the city,so as to immerse the sense of community for the Chinese nation into their production and life,social and cultural life,as well as interactions with all ethnic groups,and to push for their integration into society,so that they can be rooted in the sense of community for the Chinese nation in a firm and flexible way.
