Effects of GA3 on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Cucumber under Salt Stress
The effect of exogenous GA3 on cucumber seed germination and seedling growth was studied under the condition of salt stress. The results showed that:the germination rate, germination potential and germination index were significantly higher in the treatments of supplying different concentrations of GA3 than in the NaCl stress treatment only.In the treatment of 100mg/L GA3 supplication, the highest values of the germination potential, germination potential, germination index, seedling leaf area, root length, root /shoot ratio, the chlorophyll content in the leaves of seedlings, the leaf photosynthetic rate (Pn),stomatal conductance (Gs),intercellular CO2 molality fraction (Ci) and transpiration rate (Tr) numerical index were obtained; however, the maximum value,2 005U/(g · min),of POD activity in leaves were detected in the treatment of 50 mg/L GA3.
