Butterflies are regarded as effective indicators because of their sensitivity to environmental changes.In this paper,a preliminary investigation was made on the community structure and diversity of butterfly in Yunwushan National Nature Reserve of Ningxia.The results were showed as follows:There were 29 species,belonging to 6 families and 26 genera.Satyridae had the highest number of genera (8) and species (8),while Papilionidae only had 1 genus and 1 species.The butterfly biodiversity in this area were analyzed with Margalef's index (R),Shannon-wiener biodiversity index (H'),Pielou evenness index (J) and Berger-Parker dominance index (D),and it reflected the butterfly biodiversity in terms of different ways.Satyridae had the highest diversity index (1.57),while had the lowest dominance index (0.28),evenness index (0.76),Hesperiidae had the highest Richness index (1.31),Nymphalidae had the highest dominance index (0.44),Lycaenidae had the highest evenness index (0.96),while had the lowest diversity index (1.34),Pieridae had the lowest richness index (0.82).The dominant family is Satyridae in Yunwushan Nature Reserve.It was known that the community structure of Satyridae was unstable,while the species was relatively concentrated.Papilionidae was relatively poor,so some effective measures should be used to protect them.
