The grapevine of ‘Gold Finger’ was grafted into the four rootstocks of ‘3309C’,‘101-14M’,‘5BB’ and ‘Jinshouzhi’.Impacts of those rootstocks on growth and some physiological characters of ‘Gold Finger’ grapevine were evaluated, compared with the self-rooted cuttings,in the second and third year after grafting. All the rootstocks reduced the growth vigor of the scion,of which ‘ 3309C’ generated the largest decrease. In general, photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate and stomatal conductance were increased by grafting to different extents, depending on the different rootstocks and developmental stages.Stem sap flow showed an increase trend in the grafted grapevines, especially for the rootstock of ‘101-14M’,in comparison to the self-rooted cuttings. The four rootstocks could enhance total nitrogen level, while they could not increase K+ mass fraction. In addition, the four rootstocks had the different impacts on mass fraction of Ca2+,Mg2+,Zn2+ and Fe2+.
