As a valuable and rare edible and medicinal fungus,Morchella spp.has very important economic and scientific values.In this paper,the recent achievement of Morchella spp.on traditional classification,ecological characteristic,life cycle,life habit and molecular biology etc.were summarized.In addition,the research development of wild Morchella spp.from Tibetan autonomous prefecture of Gannan in Gansu province were sketched.The potential issues which remained in the current research were pointed out,and some suggestions were given for future study.It will make a reference to sustainable development of wild Morchella spp.from Tibetan buddhism of Gannan in Gansu province.
