Effects of combined pollution of microplastics and cypermethrin pesticide on the growth of Chinese cabbage
In response to the problem of combined pollution of microplastics and pesticides,Chinese cabbage(Brassica chinensis L)was used as the test plant to study the differences in the effects of traditional microplastic polyethylene(PE MPs)and biodegradable microplastic polylactic acid(PLA MPs)alone and combination with cypermethrin pesticide on plant growth. The results showed that the PE MPs treatment group exhibited a pattern of"low promotion and high inhibition"towards Chinese cabbage. In contrast, the treatment of PLA MPs at low additive levels then inhibited the growth of Chinese cabbage and the inhibitory effect increased with the increase of microplastic concentration.Compared to microplastic a-lone,the combined effect of cypermethrin pesticides has a greater negative impact on Chinese cabbage. The inhibitory effect of PLA MPs on Chinese cabbage is greater than that of PE MPs,and further evaluation of the environmental behavior of biodegradable microplastics is needed.
