ZHENG Hangsheng is one of the earliest mainland Chinese scholars to recognize the importance of Weber studies and the study of Weber's sociological thoughts.He insisted on the theoretical consciousness of learning from foreign countries and creating special characteristics,and conducted in-depth research on Weber's sociological thoughts and applied them.In his systematic interpretation of Weber's idea of"value neutrality",he established the correct direction of Marxist sociology with Chinese characteristics.In the process of constructing sociological theories with Chinese characteristics,such as the theory of social operation,the theory of social transformation,and the theory of social inter-construction,he was inspired and influenced by Weber's ideas of"ideal type"and other thoughts.On the basis of dialoguing with Weber's"traditional-modern"analytical framework,he creatively put forward the concepts and propositions of"social commonality","new type of modernity"and"new type of socialism".Zheng Hangsheng's emphasis on Weber studies and the application of his ideas with a high degree of theoretical consciousness are still of great significance for the construction of sociological knowledge system with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
