Progress on Regulation and Targeted Therapy of Breast Cancer Stem Cells
Breast cancer stem cells are cells with self-renewal capabilities and the potential for multidirec-tional differentiation within breast tumors. The occurrence, development, metastasis, and recurrence of breast can-cer are closely associated with the high tumorigenicity, high invasive metastatic ability, and treatment resistance of stem cells.In-depth research on the regulation of breast cancer stem cells-related cytokines and microenvironmental factors is of significant guiding importance for clinical targeted therapy of breast cancer. This article reviews recent advances in the regulation of breast cancer stem cells, including signaling pathways, transcription factors,epigen-etic regulatory factors, and microenvironmental factors. It explores the potential value of breast cancer stem cells and their associated signaling factors as therapeutic targets for breast cancer, providing new directions for clinical targeted therapy of breast cancer.
