精原干细胞(spermatogonial stem cells,SSCs)是体内一类特殊的成体干细胞,它的自我更新和分化平衡决定着雄(男)性持续一生的精子发生过程,是遗传信息在物种间世代稳定传递的基础.半个世纪以来,对SSCs的识别、培养、移植和命运调控相关分子机制的研究极大拓展了人们对其生物学特性的认知.该综述将介绍SSCs研究的相关历史、重要里程、进展和依然面临的瓶颈问题,以期为生育力拯救、干细胞基因改造、濒危动物多样性保护、畜牧业生产等研究和应用提供参考.
Advances in Spermatogonial Stem Cell Fate Regulation
SSCs(spermatogonial stem cells)are the unique adult stem cells because the balance between their self-renewal and differentiation determines lifelong spermatogenesis in the body,which also supports the transmission of genetic information from generation to generation in species.Over the past half century,the de-velopment of cell identification,culture,allogeneic transplantation and the study of fate regulation on SSCs have greatly improved our understanding of their biological properties.This review introduces the history,milestones,recent progress and unresolved issues still faced of SSC studies,and aims to summarize the current knowledge with a view to providing reference for fertility preservation,stem cell genetic modification,endangered species conser-vation,and livestock production.
