The Integrated Strategy of"Teaching,Research, and Innovation"in Clinical Teaching Hospitals for Cultivating Interdisciplinary Talents
Clinical teaching hospitals play a dual role as primary institutions for cultivating high-quality medi-cal professionals and as vital drivers of medical education, research, and clinical translational studies.Statistics reveal that a majority of large and medium-sized hospitals globally are affiliated to universities, with more than 80%of research outcomes coming from these institutions.A significant portion of clinical training for medical students is undertaken in these affiliated hospitals, highlighting their pivotal role in medical educa-tion.Despite their importance, clinical teaching hospitals face challenges such as inadequate humanities-oriented education for medical students and insufficient integration of research with industrial innovation. To address these issues,it is recommended to enhance the teaching status and research translational capability of clinical teaching hospitals. This involves organically integrating teaching, research, and translational studies to seamlessly blend education and innovation,so as to cultivate highly skilled medical professionals and promote continuous development of healthcare.
