Analysis of Research Hotspots and Frontier Trends in TCM Master-Apprentice Education
Objective To analyze the research hotspots and cutting-edge research directions of TCM master-apprentice education so as to provide reference for further in-depth research in the future.Methods We retrieved research journal articles related to TCM master-apprentice education published between January 1,1995 and October 15,2024 from CNKI,cqVIP,and Wanfang Data.A total of 1,073 articles were included.We analyzed the number of publications,journals,institutions,authors,and keywords by CiteSpace6.3.R1.Results The number of publications showed a significant increase,reaching a peak of 93 articles in 2018.Chinese Medicine Modern Distance Education of China and Education of Chinese Medicine were the main publishing journals,with over 100 articles published.Most of the publishing institutions and authors were in a dispersed and independent research state.The co-occurrence of keywords showed that research on TCM master-apprentice education focused on master-apprentice education,TCM education,TCM,and teaching modes.Cluster analysis formed 16 clusters,and revealed that research on the categories of teacher education,TCM education,and college education has been ongoing from 1995 to 2024.The main emerging keywords in recent years were clinical thinking,talent cultivation,TCM classics,teaching,and TCM residential training.Conclusion The characteristics of the article show that TCM master-apprentice education has received continuous attention,but academic cooperation between research institu-tions and authors still needs to be strengthened.The research hotspots in TCM master-apprentice education lie in deepening teaching reform and innovating the talent cultivation mode of TCM master-apprentice educa-tion;analyzing learning outcomes and promoting the dynamic inheritance of the experiences of renowned teachers.The research frontier directions include the integration of TCM classics and culture into the teaching content of TCM master-apprentice education as well as research on the modes of TCM residential training and master-apprentice education.
