Construction of a Self-Directed Learning Model for Basic Chemistry Assisted with Artificial Intelligence Technology
In view of the current situation where the course Basic Chemistry is assigned limited class hours but has extensive content, coupled with the deficiency in traditional teacher-centered teaching method at medical colleges and universities, our teaching team has explored and designed a student-centered learning framework for Basic Chemistry.Additionally, artificial intelligence tools are employed as assistance throughout the entire teaching and learning processes, including pre-class guidance,in-class interactive communication,comple-tion of homework and extensive learning. This innovative approach can not only effectively reduce the pres-sure on teachers in preparing lessons but also greatly stimulate students'interest in learning and enhance their participation in class. Results showed that after adopting this learning model, students'homework comple-tion and final exam scores have significantly improved compared to those in previous years, which fully demonstrates the effectiveness of this learning model in enhancing teaching outcomes.Furthermore,we delve into potential solutions to addressing challenges encountered during the utilization of artificial intelligence tools for assisted learning, aiming to provide valuable insights and guidance for the educational reform of Basic Chemistry at medical colleges and universities.
