Construction of a Course-based Ideological and Political Education System Customized to the Unique Characteristics of Neurology
To achieve the fundamental goal of cultivating virtues and morality,it is necessary to speed up developing a high-quality educational system. The teaching of neurology plays a pivotal role in medical education.Currently,as a result of a strong emphasis on professionalism and extensive theoretical knowledge, medical education focuses primarily on the transmission of knowledge and skills. However, the effectiveness of ideological and political education should serve as a fundamental criterium for evaluating all the work at universities and colleges.Course-based ideological and political education, which has been widely implemented at various medical colleges and universities, functions as an essential bridge to guide medical students in establishing solid core socialist values as well as adhering to medical regulations and professional ethics.Given that the nervous system is a highly complex, precise, and organized nonlinear network system, neurology instruction possesses unique professional characteristics that contribute to its inherent learning challenges. It is essential that an effective pathway for integrating ideological and political education should be constructed by being customized to its specific attributes.Presently,course-based ideological and political education in neurology courses exhibits deficiencies in educators'ideology, the content of the courses, and instructional modes, and remains relatively underdeveloped. It is imperative to establish a course-based ideological and political education framework that accords with the distinctive characteristics of neurology through collaborative efforts of multiple parties. This paper aims to explore the implementation of ideological and political education by integrating value formation with knowledge dis-semination and capacity building.By reasonably integrating neurology instruction with course-based ideologi-cal and political education—embedding value guidance into knowledge transfer—and fostering correct worldviews, philosophy of life, and value system among medical students,we can effectively achieve desired educational outcomes.
