Comparison of the antihypertensive effect of levamlodipine maleate and amlodi-pine besylate in elder patients with hypertension
Objective To explore the antihypertensive effect of levamlodipine maleate and amlodipine besylate in elderly patients with hypertension. Methods A total of 1361 elderly hypertensive patients were enrolled and divided into levamlodipine group(n=604)and amlodipine group(n=757)according to the antihypertensive drugs they took. The blood pressure control, endpoint events and ad-verse reactions were observed in the 2 groups. Results The 2-year follow-up of the 2 groups showed that after 1 month of antihyper-tensive treatment, the blood pressure compliance rate of levamlodipine group was significantly lower than that of amlodipine group(P<0.05).With the extension of treatment time, the compliance rate of the 2 groups gradually increased, and the increase rate of le-vamlodipine group was faster than that of amlodipine group, but there was no statistical significance between the 2 groups(P>0.05).During the first to third follow-up,no end event occurred in levamlodipine group, which was significantly lower than that in amlodip-ine group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the cumulative incidence of end point events between the 2 groups at the 4th to 7th follow-up(P>0.05).The incidence of adverse events in levamlodipine group(4.30%)was lower than that in amlodipine group(5.42%),but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion Levamlodipine was applied to elderly pa-tients with hypertension.Short-term administration can reduce the incidence of adverse events and endpoint events, and long-term ad-ministration can improve the blood pressure compliance rate of patients, with high clinical efficacy and safety.
